I have been experimenting with smoothies the last few months more than ever. I usually just made a typical green smoothie or the occasional kid favorites. But recently, I have really been relying on Protein Shakes to help with a fitness challenge I have been on.
With all the different protein flavors, chocolate, vanilla & coconut mostly, it is easy to get that yummy dessert satisfaction. I never craved dessert till I had kids. I’m much more of a salty girl!! But waffles and chocolate took over my body during my three years of back to back baby making. And my body felt the difference!!! Suddenly weight was an issue and I wasn’t feeling like myself.
So now, I am on a new fitness challenge from the ladies of Tone It Up and loving it. They have made me realize just how important shakes can be to stay on track and fight the snack attacks!!
Here is my latest and greatest concoction… I’m sure you will love it too!!! It’s so fresh and perfect to help get in that Mermaid state of mind!
~Toasted Coconut Smoothie~
- 3 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 cup toasted coconut almondmilk
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 orange
- fresh Pineapple chunks
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder ( coconut powder if desire strong coconut flavor)
- 1/4 cup cauliflower
- Chia seeds
- More coconut flakes
Blend ingredients then top with extra yummy goodness!!!
This drink has me so excited to be sitting poolside and feeling good! It works great as a smoothie bowl too. Throw in some more banana to get a thicker consistency. I love this after a hot workout too. So get out there and get sweaty & ready for summertime fun this weekend dolls!! Enjoy!!
